We have chosen to work together with Save the Children Denmark and support their missions around the world.

Children are always innocent wictims.

From now and until 31/12-2021 we will give one mattress to Save the Children Denmark, each time we sell a mattress from our webshop. Please keep that in mind when you purchase sleeping and resting gear for your festival, shelter, hike, airport transit, camping etc.

No matter what situation they are in, Children are for sure always innocent wictims. No matter race, religion, sex, color or other affiliation they did not chose that themselves. They are born into it, and are innocent fragile wictims in an enviroment that they didn’t chose themselves. That is why we have chosen Save the Children Denmark as our close partner, so we can help them saving vulnerable children and their families.

It is primarily their mission in South Sudan that benefits from Life-Bed.

Sydsudan har siden landet erklærede selvstændighed i 2011 været præget af intense interne uroligheder og konflikt. Dette har medført en stor population af interne fordrevne, der er specielt udsatte og sårbare. Situationen i Sydsudan har medført store udfordringer med underernæring og den generelle fødevareusikkerhed der er meget kritisk. Adgang til basale services så som skoler, sundheds faciliteter mv. er meget begrænset, hvilket bl.a. føre til spredning af sygdomme, der nemt kan behandles og forbygges. Senest blev Sydsudan i juni ramt af store oversvømmelser som følge af voldsom nedbør i områder som ellers har været er præget af tørke, hvilket forårsagede nye bølger af internt fordrevne.

Life-beds vil indgå som en vigtig del af Red Barnets beredskab, og indgå i de såkaldte Non-food item (NFI)-kits som Red Barnet udleverer til fordrevne børn og deres familier. Disse kits er noget af det første disse familier modtager i en respons og sikrer et basis-niveau af komfort og tryghed i de første dage efter en krise.

Herudover vil life-beds også kunne bruges i Red Barnets sundheds og fødselsklinikker til både at øge kapaciteten men også sikrer en bedre komfort for fødende og andre patienter som har behov for behandling i deres hjem eller på sundhedsfaciliteter samt støtte til hospitaler.

Why are we producing Life-Beds?

The purpose of Life-Bed was originally helping refugess and internally displaced people.

The idea came one night in November 2013 when watching TV. There was a broadcast from a typhoon in the Philippines. Buildings were destroyed, lands were flooded, people had nowhere to sleep than on the bare humid soil. They were all wet and freezing. Roads were destroyed or blocked. It was impossible to reach the hit areas with trucks or other vehicles that could bring the people mattresses and blankets.
We looked at each other and decided to find a better solution. Much better than big mattresses that have to be loaded onto trucks.
We wanted to invent a mattress that is packed very small, is easy to distribute, is waterproof and insulating. We decided to find the perfect solution for displaced people, refugees and other people in need of an instant resting and sleeping solution. A mattress that can be lifted by air all over the world within 24 hours.
After a lot of work and thinking, we finally found the perfect solution: Life-Bed.
